Bottle: Poured a brown with a red edge hint, head was off white. Aroma was off white with strong roasted/caramel malt. Taste was sweet malts slight roastiness, and hints of vanilla bean as well. Very yummy!

Dark brown. Nutty with a little caramel as well. Caramel accent on the palate, and a little nutty. It’s consistent, I’ll give it that. It is actually a more interesting beer than I expected it to be.

A dark reddish brown ale with a thin big bubbled light mocha head. In aroma, sweet caramel malt with dark fruits, light sulfur, a tad unpleasant. In mouth, sweet aqueous caramel malt with light mineral notes.

2011-03-16, draught at Pat’s Pub, Vancouver, 6-4-6-3-13=32
Dark brown color; creamy head. Served too cold, it has a light caramel and roasted malt aroma. Smooth texture; with roasted malt flavor, a bit dusty, and late caramel; light residual sweetness too. Correct bitterness, with a bit more roasty touch in the end. Not bad.

2011-03-04, draught at St. Augustine’s, Vancouver, 6-4-6-3-13=32
Dark chestnut color with some amber shades; creamy head. Classic aroma of the dirty water from the Vancouver city service; very light caramel and apples too. The body is leaner than expected; dry mouthfeel, caramel flavor, with a light ending minty touch; correct bitterness. Just another Brown Ale. Balanced but nothing special.

Nice jet black body with modest off-antique-white head on top. Soft aroma of wet barley. Taste is roasted barley with a hint of malt and a medium finish. Drinkable, unremarkable.

Bottle. Pours a clarret color, brown head. Malt and berry aroma. Color-malt roast and a hint of milk chocolate on a otherwise not particulary chewy brew - I would put it in a brown ale category really. Not a bad one at that: Light blueberries and heatherlike hop balance. Sparly mouthfeel. Pleasant drink.

Kinda reminded me of Cherry Coke, but not so sweet, but with some whiskey notes. Looked similar too. Certainly not bad stuff, but not overly balanced or complex.

Bottle sapled at Firefly, pours golden orange. Aroma and flavour of light butterscotch and caramel malts. Smooth, but standard scotch ale.
