Poured from 500mL bottle. Clear pale golden yellow with dissipating white head. Light corny malt, subtle metallic taste, very subtle grass hopping.

135ml can, bought from somewhere in Japan. Labelled as "Sapporo Black Label". Best before date is 12/09 - five year ago! Pours pale yellow. Aroma is grassy. Taste follows aroma, also there is a hint of rice. For such an old lager it is surprisingly good. ////// 500ml bottle, BB 07/15. Light grassy and malty taste. Good bitterness for a macro.

Flasche (Sapporo サッポロ生ビール 黒ラベル(生), 633 ml) aus dem Pyongyang Shop, Pyongyang. - Satt goldgelb, blank, üblicher Schaum. - In der Nase zart süßliches helles Malz und sehr milder, leicht hopfenwürziger Hopfen mit zarten Anklängen an Zitronenschale und Gras. - Antrunk angenehm hellmalzig mit leichter Süße. Sehr milde aber aromatische Hopfung mit ein wenig Gras. Mild rezent, weiches Mundgefühl. Im Abgang dann deutlich zu blaß und leer. Der leicht chlorig-metallische Nachtrunk verleitet dazu, immer noch einen Schluck mehr zu nehmen, um den unangenehmen Nachgeschmack loszuwerden ... - Anfangs durchaus überzeugend, erweist es sich zuletzt doch nur als anspruchsloser Durstlöscher mit gewissen Aromadefiziten. Beim Wärmerwerden zeigt sich auch schon im Antrunk eine stumpfe Leere, wohl von Reis und Stärke, die hier als billiger Malzersatz verbraut wurden. Also besser gut gekühlt genießen ...

Can. Can’t believe I never rated this. Clean, medium rich biscuit malt nose, light lemon and grass. Ok. Sweet malt flavor, simple and a bit too sweet. Ok body. Low but but there is some grass and a bit of citrus and decent bitterness. Ok.
