Drink fresh for a big hop hit from the Simcoe, Citra, Pacific Gem and Columbus dry hops. But a complex malt backbone including chocolate malt, roasted barley, oats and what, along with honey and molasses, means this beer will age well.”

(Bottle) Dark brown colour, almost black, with foamy beige head. Malty, roasted, hoppy nose with black rye bread, coffee, dark chocolate, liquorice, pine needles, burnt sugar and hints of green peppercorns. Malty, roasted taste with notes of black bread, liquorice, black coffee, dark chocolate, brown sugar, blackpepper and a generous piney, citirc bitterness in the finish. Almost full body, sweet. A bit sweet, but really rich with a generous hop presence. Very nice.
Layered flavour. Very good. Bonus points for the name!

Bottle from Craftissimo at home. Dark cola brown pour with enticing fine and creamy tan head. Aroma is deep roasted coffee malt punctuated by pine and juicy melon with some alcohol. Very nice. Taste is similar - definitely has Black and Tan feel (versus black IPA or hoppy stout). Big roasted flavors with piercing hoppiness and a light body. This has coffee, pine, melon, cola, leather, alcohol. Palate is relatively thin but creamy - more imperial IPA than imperial stout. Lasting bitterness. Really good!
