On tap at Sportsmens Tavern, Buffalo. Pours amberish. Aroma is caramel malt, sweet citrus, resin. Flavor is almost exactly the same. Fine, but not great.

Bottle from Wegmans. Light amber, medium fluffy head. More on the malty side of IPA, taste and aroma are sweet caramel and toffee with a nice sharp sting at the finish. Walks the line between English and American IPAs.

Draught at the brewpub. Amber, with a fine, thick head. Nose of tropical fruit, grapefruit, nice but a bit faint. Sweet, piny and tropical flavors. Rather full body. More flavorful than the Can. Lake Ale, but somehow that one seemed better put together.

12oz bottle from Orchard Fresh, Orchard Park, NY. A slightly hazy amber pour with a ring of cream head; the aroma is a blend of tropical fruit and young birch wood; lots of fresh, green, assertive hops in the mouth; and a strongly bitter dry herbal finish. A rather good IPA.

Location: Sampled at Tap NY, 4/27/13

Aroma: The nose is nice and hoppy, with some tropical fruit, grapefruit, and pine/resin
Appearance: Pours a mostly clear copper-orange color with an off-white head
Flavor: The taste is much the same, with a big hoppy flavor and some malt backing
Palate: The body is medium, it has a nice, clean mouthfeel, and a dry carbonation
Overall Impression: This one was one of my favorite samplings of the day, and CB was one of the more memorable brewers. A really nice example of an IPA.

This beer pours a hazy orange color with a medium off-white head that recedes steadily. Partial rings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of hops, citrus and grainy malt. Medium-bodied with a moderately bitter hops character that has citrus and pine notes. Some bready malt in the background. The finish is hoppy with a citrus aftertaste. Decent overall.

My wife brought this one back from a trip to Rochester. +++ Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a hazy caramel color with a medium sized foamy orange-beige head that lingered and left decent lacing. The aroma was faintly sour and hoppy with a odd herbal and off rancid vegetable element. The flavor was bitter, fruity and piney with a tangy vegetal presence that detracted. Long finish and medium body. Eh.

Bottle. Pours a hazy amber with a thin head and aromas of pine and citrus. Flavor is a really nice mix of caramel and a sharp blast of hops. Very nice after a long day of fishing.
