Draft: Poured a deep brown with red edges, head was a light brown. Aroma is earthy, rich malts, subtle sweetness. Taste is rich malty, bakers chocolate, earthy. Solid Porter!

On tap at Popeye, pours a deep dark brown with a small beige head. Aroma seems unpleasant, with soil, perfumey notes and some earthiness. Flavour is even less pleasant, with perfumey notes, soil, and earthiness. This is just bad.

Tap at Brimmer Beer Box. Dark chocolate brown, small golden creamy head. Aroma is chocolate, milky, bit of roast, touch of fruitiness in the background. Taste is more stouty, to start off, not really any trace of the fruit, lots of chocolate. Further down the fruit arrives, blackberries, plums maybe. Less creaminess. Quite smooth, and pretty nice. Touch of roast there too.

Keg at Ant ’n Bee - Tokyo. Pours clear red-brown with a tight, creamy tan head. The aroma holds medium roast malts, cocoa, light coffee. Medium sweet flavor with notes of dried berries, leather, bitter ashy roast, a little burnt rubber, earth. Light to medium bodied with fine carbonation. Finishes with bittersweet baking cocoa, further ashy roast, light espresso, scorched earth. Solid porter.

Pours dark brown, almost black - with a bit of beige foam. Aroma is really full of roast, dark bitter chocolate also there, but still quite soft overall. Tastes nicely dry and full of roast, cocoa power and dark chocolate. Brimmer has done a good job with this relatively low abv beer and added all the flavours you want to have from a sessionable porter. Believe me, I have sessioned with this in the past when they still had Brimmer Beer Box.

Dark brown, thick head, has a chocolatey, slightly fruity aroma. Balanced, maybe a touch light, and a hint of fruitiness and chocolate. Ok porter.

On tap at Watering Hole or CBM. Can’t remember where. Deep copper brown color with a light tan head. Caramel, malt, toasted cacao nibs and toffee on the nose. Tastes similar with more emphasis on the cacao nibs. Thin and watery mouthfeel. Slightly bitter finish. Middle of line porter. --- Beer merged from original tick of Porter on 31 May 2016 at 20:25 - Score: 7. Original review text: Thanks Eric!
