Earthy, rich and steeped in autumn’s magic: it’s an ale of change. This potent infusion is haunted by memories of summer and the first frost on abandoned fields.
Jinx prepares the bones for snow. It has the glint of golden maples at peak and finishes light as an ode to the fading sun. A bit of peat-smoked malt imparts a subtle hint of smoke that reminds us of fall’s bonfires.

Clear deep copper color with a small khaki head and fair retention. Minimal lacing. A good blend of caramel malt and smoke flavors. Not as ashy as other smoke beers I've tried, and that's a good thing. 6.9 ABV is well hidden. Enjoyed during Hurricane Irma.

Bottle. Lightly smoky lactic toffee malt aroma. Amber with nice head. Sour milk and toffee malt flavor. Medium body. Okay but kind of boring.

12 oz. bottle, from Timmy. Pours clear brown, with a medium, beige head. The aroma is oats, light peaty earthiness, caramel, toast, and a touch of dark cherries. Sweet, with a little bitterness. Medium body, lightly carbonated, sharp, and a little harsh. Overall, this is a nice, peaty, smoky scottish ale. Easy and approachable, but with some complexity.

15th September 2008. Opaque brown beer - unusual - initially quite smoky when cold but this retreated as the beer warmed up. The start became silky and smooth and the ending had banana and bubblegum notes.

12 oz bottle courtesy of eaglefan538. Drink before Jan 09 notched on label Pour is mahogany, mostly clear, visible carbonation. Nicely formed 2 inch off white head. Aroma of cardboard, some malty nuttiness, slight synthetic sweetness, perhaps a hint of roast malt. Taste is quite a bit cleaner then the nose, mostly featuring the hazelnut maltiness and slight cherry sweetness. Sweetness is much less chemically then the nose, but still reminds me a little of cough drops. Palate is thin medium, a bit slick, quick forgettable finish. Thanks for sending this my way Brian.

12 oz bottle. Pours clear brown amber with an off-white head. Aroma is malty and sweet. Flavor is sweet, malty toasted biscuit with mild smoke and vague hints of nuts, anise, and grapes. As it warms, a bit of cirtusy hops come out, but the sweetness really becomes a bit more of a sickly sweetness. I was close to giving it something along the lines of a 3.6 until the sweetness just became too much.

Pours brown into a shaker. Off-white micro head leaves little lacing as it recedes to skim surface. Smoke aromas. Caramel and hickory from front to back. Slightly thin in the middle with a lasting dry smokey medicinal finish.

12 oz. bottle from Whole Foods Market Charlottesville. Clear brown pour with a thin white head that quickly dissipates. Caramel aroma with notes of smoke and banana. Banana caramel taste with a very nutty flavor imparted by the smoke. Medium bodied.
