I took the 2015 version. It is a great ale, a poem of taste in the mouth, bitter, fruity, malty, complex, pleasant copper body, lovely!!!!! 15.06.17, from the grain d'orges, Crissier.

Lots of Christmas cake, caramel and milk chocolate. Malty slightly oxidated but still decent and excellent winter warmer

Dark brown pour, with Ruby hues, and a medium beige head. Very malty upfront. Quite sweet and bready with some boozy sherry notes, solid cereals, some nuttiness, and subtle grassy hops. Thick sticky mouthfeel, soft carb. Sweet finish, again very bready and quite boozy. Low bitterness, and a soft grassy hop. I’m afraid with age thiw will only get sweeter, but it should cut the booziness.not as good as past vintages.

From 500ml bottle (no. 100364) on 24/9/2022. Pours an opaque amber with a medium head. Smells malty - lots of toffee and caramel with notes of dark and dried fruit. Rinse and repeat on the sip. Quite sweet, malt and fruit driven, with a touch of Christmas cake to it. Finishes with a moderate sharpish bitterness that works now Celt with the front end. A touch syrupy palate wise with moderate to average carbonation. Tasty, yet nuanced and quite restrained for the size. Lovely.

Bottle at home, Tuesday, 7th December 2021. Pours a chestnut brown and clear. Aroma is dark fruits, caramel and raisins, molasses. Taste is smooth, aged, caramel, dark fruit, burnt sugar, nutty, complex and layered, brown sugar. Delicious Old Ale, stood up very well for a 7 year old bottle.

(Bottle) Dark amber colour with frothy, tan head. Fruity, malty nose with notes of apricot marmalade, orange, dried fruit, dates, raisins, honey and floral hops. Malty, fruity taste with apricot marmalade, dried fruit, dates, caramel, honey, orange, flowers and a gentle spicy, earthy bitterness in the finish. More than medium body, sweet. Tasty, warming, smooth and well balanced, but doesn't really stand out as much as many other vintages. Nice one.
