50cl can. A clear golden beer with a big white head. Aroma of herbs, mojito, tea, mint. Taste of mint, lime, sweet malt, sugar tea.

Another new Desperados for me - and when I see all the various entries under this brand name in the database here, I have a bad feeling that this journey hasn't come to an end yet. Bottle from a Delhaize supermarket, a cheap colourless longneck bottle with 'loud' label as usual in this series. Snow white, mousy ring with flat 'islands' in the middle, over a crystal clear, metallic 'old gold' beer with some large, lonely bubbles here and there. Aroma of dried peppermint leaves and Moroccon peppermint tea (quite convincing, I hate to admit) - but peppermint tea with a lot of white sugar in it as well, boiled corn water, plastic, artificial lime, lots of melting white sugar - even candy-like, cotton towels, children's cough medicine, iced tea. Cloying sugary sweetness throughout, refined white sugar, fizzy carb but not bothersome (if anything, it relieves that annoying sticky sweetness a bit), thin and slick corn syrup-like body with not even a pinch of graininess to speak of, covered under a thick blanket of sugariness and lemonade-like ascorbic acid, as well as a huge dosage of the added aromas, most notably the peppermint tea again. A lime effect can be imagined but in a really artificial way, while that chemical or medicine-like bitter 'kick' at the back from the tequila extract, typifying all these Desperados products, shows up as I expected it to. Sugar syrup diluted with thin green peppermint tea and unpleasant artificial flavourings, this more or less meets my expectations, which of course were so low that I cannot even be shocked anymore of how bad this really is - and how far removed from anything even remotely conceivable as 'good' beer, or even beer 'tout court'. Mock-jito-like if it weren't for the alcohol, something thoughtless youths will knock down to get a buzz I suppose, like the others in this series; at least this isn't downright bizarre like that pink hibiscus version I had yesterday, and comes closer to the original, which is still one of my pet hates. A horrible product invented to get naieve people drunk as easily as possible - there is no redemption to be found here, so once again, I cannot be harsh enough in rating it. Desperados needs to be extinguished from the face of the planet as far as I'm concerned, but unfortunately it is still popular enough to have even been imitated, think of Cubanisto, Besos and others - but we've gone more than deep enough now and this 'beer' segment has been given too much attention already, on to 'real' beer.

Napój piwny, barwa złota, piana słaba, szybko opada. W aromacie mohito. W smaku płyn miętowy do mycia naczyń. Bardzo słodkie.

Barwa złota, klarowne, piana biała, obfita, ale niezbyt trwała. W aromacie cukier, słodycz, lekkie mojito tylko. W smaku słodkie, cukrowe, sztuczne, mało orzeźwiające, a takie właśnie powinno być mojito. Nuda.

Clear yellow small white head. Strong aroma of mint and herbal bitterness. Flavor is herbal mint, cane sugar. I like mojito but this beer does nit work at all.
