Mutzig is a superior quality beer master brewed according to its original European recipe with the highest quality local and imported ingredients. It was launched in Rwanda in 1987 as a brand for consumers with a passion for stronger, more refined quality and taste.
Originally from Europe, in a town called Alsace (between Germany and France), Mützig is a regional brand that is also brewed in Cameroon, Ivory Coast, DRC and Congo Brazzaville.
As is witnessed in its campaigns, Mützig is about a passion for quality, bringing the best in people to everything they do just like the efforts it takes to bring the “world’s best in a beer”.

Many thanks for this beer for new Country to Manslow.

Bottle kindly shared by Rubin77 at a tasting in his flat. Brutally lightstruck and oxidized. Corny and syrupy. Easy drinking though.

Bottle from Nakumatt Supermarket in Kigali / Rwanda 🇷🇼. Smooth malty grainy beginning. Sessionable, hints of grain. Malty sweetish with a low neutral bitterness. A bit unround with cardboard hints.

Pale golden, low white head which quickly dissipates to a white ring. Aroma is malty, low on grains and metallic. Taste again malts, grains, metallic and some low breadiness in the finish. Low but noticeable earthy hoppy bitterness. Hops? In Africa!? Light to medium bodied. Much better than anything else Rwanda has to offer. Also draught leaves a better impression than the bottled versions.

Bottled 650ml. -Pale golden coloured, medium sized white head, dusty grainy nose. Some sweet malt, grain and corn with light hoppy notes. Light bitter finish. Drinkable and not so bad as I’ve expected.
