Cask handpull at Thomas Ingoldsby Spoons Canterbury. Fourth half here at thus cant be as bad as the otgers. It simply cant. Black beer with lasting thin tan head. Treacle tart aroma with choc is definitely a good start. Some treacle stout in mouth. Not malty enough to underpin the big flavours. Alcohol is a bit raw. Another underperforming Spoons fest beer. Poor.

Cask @ Society Room, JDW. Spoons Real Ale Festival autumn 2011. Dark brown colour, tan head. Nose is toffee, roasted malts, coffee. Flavour of roasted malts, toffee, caramel, hint of vanilla. Fairly sweet finish.

Cask at The Crosse Keys, JDW, London. Pours oily brown with a foamy, tan head. Looks good. Sweet aroma with hints of chocolate and candy. Medium sweet flavor, mild roast, some burnt wood, cocoa, and what I assume is treacle. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Mild brown sugar finish, slight earthy hops, some dirt and burnt cocoa. Alright.
