Handpull cask at the Blue Boar, Leicester. Dark brown, just a little translucent with a smallish buff-coloured head. Charcoal, pine, light citrus and liquorice on the nose. Sweet taste, some pine needles, some caramel. Tiny bit of Marmite. So much going on here. Thin to medium body, carbonation on the soft side. Just incredible!

Black lingering creamy beige head. Dark chocolate aroma. Roasted grains. Resin. Evident hops underneath. Taste is bitter with a long, bitter finish. Good.

Sample thanks to Grumbo: Poured a deep dark brown almost black with a creamy light brown head. Aroma is rich roasted malts, light ashy smoke, dark fruits, hops. Taste is fruity, rich roasted malts, raisin, fig, ashy.

30/5/2021. Can shared with Dan and ITFCfan, from A Hoppy Place, Windsor. Pours black with a large frothy beige head. Aroma of ash, toffee, hops, dark fruits, chocolate, roasted malt. Moderate sweetness and light roasted bitterness. Medium body, slight creamy texture, fizzy carbonation. Burnt notes to finish. Nicely done, would have been even better if it was less fizzy..

On tap at Beer Emporium, Brizzle in a time when bars were open. Pours black with a tan head. Aroma: malty, toffee, cocoa, almonds, hops in the background. Taste: light sweet & bitter, chocolate, caramel, earthy, coffee hints, nutty. Medium body, fine carb, bittersweet dry finish. Nice

Rocky tan head stayed on a dark mahogany coloured still body. Huge aroma of malt, pine & rye? Medium bodied, light & airy on the tongue with a smoother clean back. Malt, dull oats, cereal & demerara over the tongue immediately followed by a massive blast of hops, light berry, pine & citrus followed by a long tangy finish. Excellent
