Bottle from Ledgers Liquors. Pours dark, but it’s ruby where the light comes through. Head is a huge 4+ finger tan - see the picture! Aroma of smooth burnt toast. Not the harsh version. Medium body with lots of frothy carbonation. Flavor is pretty hoppy over dark burnt malt - but smooth - not at all harsh. It finishes more chocolate than not. Coffee pops out after awhile.

Bottle from the brewery. Pitch black with a tall tan head. Aroma of figs, cereals, roasted barley, some hops, molasses. Rich, dark, sweet, aroma. Rich flavor of dark fruits, roasted barley, thick rich grains, molasses, coffee, chocolate. Very complex and extremely well balanced. Dry overall but with lots of rich flavor and a good amount of sweetness, but not at all oversweet or cloying. Finish is dead dry, burnt with a touch of hops, dry, refreshing, light, a bit sour. A relatively light dry stout, but with very full flavor. Excellent.

@ GJBF 2007. Roasted coffee, cocoa, grassy, some milk, toasted aroma. Medium body. Bittersweet malts, coffee, toasted, earthy, and some hidden smoke. Pretty good, not outstanding.

Dark brown color, with dark chocolate and dry dog food in the nose. Dark chocolate, coffee, with a touch of yeast. Thin body with bubblegum. Mildly dry cherry liquer chocolatey finish.
