This classy beer represents the perfect marriage between the fresh accents and slightly acidic flavour of the black cherries. Liefmans Kriek-Brut is a mixed fermentation beer, with every hectolitre containing up to 13 kilos of fruit! Liefmans Kriek-Brut is a perfect blend of Oud Bruin and pale beer aged on cherries. The beer is matured for 18 months, bringing out the very best of its intense flavour.

Dirt cheap. Nicely tarted. Clean. Easy-drinking Belgian ale ideal for a hot day. Serve slightly chilled.

Bottle at home. Dark ruby with light pink head. Sweet ripe cherries balanced with some unripe sour ones, black currant, black berries, cherry flavored hard candy. Sweet/sour blend, sweet is stronger but the balance is really good. Wonderful smooth mouthfeel, really creamy and well carbonated. Underlaying minerallike chalky (gueuze like) texture. Best predominantly sweet kriek I recall.

Almost clear dark cherry red beer. Decent and vibrantly pink head. Palate is light, mildly dry and has good fine carbonation. Rich sweet and sour cherry. Maraschino cherry - zippy. Seltzer. Light finish. Cherry zip lingers on. A little one note but that note is a great one.

Cherry aroma. Clear dark ruby color. Sour and sweet. Tastes like apple venigar. Alcohol is well hidden. Generally I am not good at enjoying sour beer.

Liefmans Brut Kriek 6% Rather than the bright red I was expecting this poured an opaque brown with red/pink overtones and a pinkish head of foam that dissipated leaving behind a pink film. The aroma is great acetic tart cherries and a vague sort of candy cinnamon character. Surprisingly effervescent with a sharp small carbonic bit on a fairly light body and endowed with a very dry finish. This keeps the flavors sharp and vibrant: tart acidic cherries, oak, sweet grenadine then a lingering tart/sweet cherry taste that keeps flipping between the two. Not the most complex kriek but a fun one, it could benefit from slightly less carbonation as it is a bit gassy. Alright.
