Everett (1908-1939) was our grandfather’s brother; Hill Farmstead Brewery rests upon the land that was once home to him and his 13 siblings. In his honor, this porter is crafted from American malted barley, English and German roasted malts, American hops, our ale yeast, and water from our well. It is unfiltered and naturally carbonated. Decadent in its depth, with a complex backbone of chocolate, coffee, and malty sweetness, this is the ale that I dream to have shared with Everett.

Black with a large foamy brown head that lingered and left great lacing. Roasty with floral hops, coffee and anise. Quite robust. Exceptionally long finish. Moderately full bodied.

Draught from B-tiger. Poured a dark with mild white smallish head, aroma choc coffee and malts, very good.

Re rate from Brouwerij Lane in Dec 2011 - inky black consistency, actuall way better this time.

Tap pour shared with Steve at Armsby Abbey. Opaque black with nice light brown head with excellent retention and tons of lacing. Aroma is strong roasted (smoky) earthy malt, milder vanilla and chocolate. Taste is strong earthy roasted malt, baker’s/dark chocolate and vanilla. Smooth texture, full bodied, average carbonation and finish as taste with light bitterness. A little worried the smokiness in the aroma would cope the flavor but this is wonderful, especially for no adjuncts.

On tap at brewery. Dark brown pour. Creamy tan head. Roasted malt nose hints at cocoa, molasses and tobacco. Smooth and approachable. Sticky mouthfeel. Wonderful.
