Deep amber in color, this English session beer is roasty and malty on the nose. It has a light mouthfeel with a toasty nutty flavor. Don’t be afraid of it’s dark appear-ance, this malty beverage is very drinkable.

On tap at Crunchy’s, East Lansing. Deep red-brown to garnet body, thin-medium tight clumping cream head. Nutty, toasty nose, dominated by Cheerios and coffee. Rather tangy, dry body, with toasted Cheerios and woody acidity. Light-bodied.

Sample at the brewpub. This beer is a dark amber color with a medium thin off-white head that recedes steadily. Stringy lacing on the glass. Aroma of toasted malt and mild hops. Light body with flavors of roasted nuts, malt and lightly bitter hops. The finish is malty with a touch of hops in the aftertaste. Decent, flavorful beer at 3.8%.
