Our Kentucky Irish Red Ale is aged for up to six weeks in freshly decanted bourbon barrels from some of Kentucky’s finest distilleries. Subtle, yet familiar, flavors of vanilla and oak are imparted to this special ale as it rests in the charred barrels. Pleasantly smooth and robust, Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale may also be served as an aperitif or after-dinner drink. Launched in 2006, it has grown to become the flagship beer of the premier name in barrel-aged beers: Lexington Brewing & Distilling Co.

Clear amber, airy offwhite head. Caramel and bourbon aroma. Flavour has caramel, boozy bourbon and a little wood. Boozy bitterness. The bourbon does not really add anything interesting here.

Dit heeft echt niks met barrel aging te maken. Zonde van de vaten.

Keg at Lupolo. Pours orange gold with no head. Aroma is caramel, orange and a hint of bourbon. Taste is a little thin but has the caramel backbone, a sharp citrus orange freshness with the bourbon lingering in the background. Not too shabby.

Pours orange, creamy. Nose is sweetish, some caramel, really Scottish ale thing. Taste is quite light, some sweetish booze, light body, feels maybe lighter than it should be but that makes it nicely drinkable. Pretty good.

12 fl oz bottle purchased at Sam The Beer Man, Binghamton NY. Pours out in a clear pale copper with a small head. Taste has definitive Bourbon elements. Boozy. Some sweetness, pale malt. Thins out to the end. Nothing really wrong but can not convince me.
