Farmageddon #11 is a 12-14 month blend of oak-aged, wild farmhouse ales. Batch #11 sees us drop the "Barrel Aged Brett Saison" descriptor formerly used for Farmageddon in favour of "Wild Farmhouse Ale" due to the range of microflora at play (a mixture of wild yeasts and bacteria), and the increase in tartness in this batch relative to those before it. The effervescent beer that hibernates in these bottles is a dynamic labour of love, changing and improving with time.

Bottle from the brewery. Cloudy orange pour, with a medium off white head. Funky, woody, earthy. Wet hay, candied citrus peel, vanilla oak. Soft mouthfeel, soft carb. Low bitterness, tart, and lots of funk.

(500ml batch 15 bottle shared by Herbalist, thanks!) Pours lightly hazed medium gold with a decent white head and lace. Notes of soft stone fruit esters, detuned lemon and grapefruit zest, fairly full pale cereals, leathery Brett, dry straw, oak, light dry white wine tones, a little subtle astringency and slight minerality though not really crisp. Wood and yeast in the aftertaste though not overly funky, some fruity base notes. Light to medium bodied, moderate effervescent bottle condition-style carbonation. Nice stuff though I found it a little light and almost overly well-balanced. I miss the brighter, fruitier early batches of Farmie.
