Bottle at home. Aroma is dark malt, strong oak, big vanilla, Bourbon, booze, chocolate, plum, dark fruity notes. Flavour is sweet and boozy. Body is medium to full. Total barrel takeover, hardly a subtle one. I think I prefer the base beer, but this is pretty damn tasty as well. Massive Bourbon oaky vanilla.

Bottled. Black colour with a small off-white head. Aroma is raisins, some bourbon, vanilla, wood, mild sweet malts with some alcohol tones as well as some toffee and chocolate to it. Flavour is alcohol, some sweet malts, bourbon, vanilla, wood, mild spiciness, chocolate and some roasted tones. Alcohol shows, but is never on the boozy side of things.

Bottle 0.33l from our archive, last memory for our visit in Bodegraven seven years ago. Hazy, very dark brown colored. AROMA- bourbon, roasted, dark chocolate, touch of coffee, touch of wooden barrel, pralines. FLAVOR- smooth, warming, slightly sweet, moderately bitter, bourbon, liquid pralines. Full bodied. Very well aged. Great.

Bottle at home, older bottle from my cellar, black beer, small head. Aroma is bourbon, malt, roast, sweetness. Taste is the same, sweet, light bourbon and alcohol. Nice.

Tap at Borefts 2014. Pours pitch black with a thin offwhite head. Aromas of bourbon, slight roast, dark sweet fruits, some coffee and some dark sweet chocolate. Taste is bourbon up front, dark bittersweet chocolate, some sweet dark fruits, almost berry-sweet. Finish is bitter with a dark dry roast.

Tap @ De Molen, 11% ABV. Deep dark brown color. Bourbon and vanilla in the aroma and flavor. Chocolate, just a hint of licorice. Complex, boozy and delicious. Bottle from november 2013, tasted August 2018. Almost black. Raisin, vanilla, chocolate and a hint of Bourbon in the aroma. Malty sweet flavor, well matured, chocolate, raisin, upcoming porto, vanilla and Bourbon. Absoliutely lovely. Very well matured. Warming alcohol. (8 4 10 4 18 = 4.4)

330ml bottle. Quasi black colour with late awakening, small, creamy, fading, minimally lacing, beige to tan head. Slightly boozy aroma, notes of oak, Bourbon, vanilla, dark malt, a touch of leather. Taste is sweet dark and caramel malty, slightly alcoholic, notes of caramel, rock sugar, Bourbon, vanilla, a slightly dry oaky touch; slightly warming, alcoholic finish. Smooth and soft, minimally sticky palate, gentle carbonation. Harmonious and integrated.
