Bräu z'Loh Dunkel, 4,9 % Flasche von Ambrosetti. - Tiefdunkles Kupferrotbraun, klar; fast schaumlos. (25.2.2022.)

Bottle picked up from the brewery online Webshop and consumed at home, Wednesday 17th February 2021 listening to Marc Riley on 6Music, we had Mushroom Risotto for tea. Pours chestnut brown in colour with an off white head. Sweet, nutty with plenty of caramel but and yet it's there throughout there is a light hoppiness. Nice beer.

500ml bottle. Clear, reddish, mahogany colour with average to huge, thick, frothy to creamy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, off-white head. Sweet-ish, dark malty aroma, hints of malt lozenge, some caramel, grassy hoppy overtones. Taste is dry, dark malty, slightly some nuttily, residual sweetness, hints of malt lozenge and caramel, grassy hoppy overtones. Well balanced, not too sweet.

0,5 l bottle from Georg. Big big thank you! Labeled with 4.5% alc. Clear dark red brown in the glass. Small fast fading head. Roastmalty on the nose. Taste starts wiht smooth roasted malt, some decent sweetness. Encreasing malt in the middle part, bready. Low grainy bitterness in the finish. Not bad.

* Old rating, 0,5l crown-top bottle, best before 9.2006. Schön mildes, röstmalziges Dunkel. Leichte Herbe, nicht zu dominante Süße, süffig. Karamell, dunkle Schokolade. Mild-weicher, röstmalzig-süßlicher Nachgeschmack mit feiner herben Note. Lecker!

10/12/11/12/11/12

Bottle (Dank nach Garching!) Clear, deep amber coloured, bigger lacy off-white head; moderate dark-malty nose with traces of roasted malt, fruits and a well hidden bitterness underneath; moderate bitter-sweet flavour, pretty light bodied, but smooth; coffeeish traces in the bitter-sweet finish. a light, but very fine Dunkel.........

(bottle) Almost clear, dark brown colour with a mid-sized tanned foamy head. Sweet toasty malty aroma with hearty notes of caramel and vanilla. Moderately bitter flavour with a delicately malty sweetness, light bodied with a well-carbonated mouthfeel. Dark and toasty malty taste with notes of bread crusts, caramel and light herbal accents; dry and quite bitter and hoppy finish with rounded toasty notes. Another fine brew from Bräu z´Loh. 27.I.10
