On tap at Open Baladin, Rome on 4th July 2018. Golden amber with thick but diminishing off-white foam and partial lacing. Intense grapefruit juice and peel in aroma. Grapefruit and peach dominate the liquid pass finish making for a highly flavoursome and rewarding ipa. Smooth yet engaging mouthfeel, and a lot of body. Possibly the finest IPA I’ve drunk in Italy so far.

bottle shared @ Pre Borefts tasting Thin white head. Cloudy amber pour. Slight bitterness. Maybe a bit too old. Tastes more like a pale ale rather than an IPA

Bottle sampled @ Brassigaume 2012. Dark red amber with a white head. Light hops in the nose, tad syrup and brown sugar. Taste is bitter caramel, toffee, herbal, malts, some sweeter herbs in the back and touch of syrup, floral hoppy. m/m body – another one I didn’t entirely pick up that it was supposed to an IPA – maybe there is just something seriously wrong with my definition of an IPA.
