Vey dark mahogany pour, flat with no head. A huge boozy, sherry, woody nose. Dark fruits, fig, cherries and dark candied plums. Mouthfeel is oily and viscous, with zero carb. The hops are there, some slight pine, bitterness is medium. A great sipper, nice stuff.

Bottle from Brewery Creek, Vancouver; vintage 2012, 1 year old (Jan 2014)
Pours a cloudy dark amber to mahogany color, thick, with almost no head. Aroma of caramel, treacle, maple syrup. Good body strength; yet, the mouthfeel is quite lean for this gravity; good flavor of malt and caramel, quite British; correct bitterness level; alcohol warmth, but not boozy; overall it has a good nutty touch.
Very good, but it doesn't justify the very high price tag.

Bottle - Vintage 2012 - Sweet toffee and a touch of spice. Cloudy copper with no head. Sweet toffee and some oxidization. Not bad, but age reduced this a bit.

330mL bottle, pours a hazy bright amber with a small off-white head. Aroma is quite intense, with notes of caramel, alcohol and dark fruits. Flavour is dominated by the dark fruits, caramel and alcohol in excellent proportion. Very fruity, boozy and caramely in good balance. Not especially sophisticated, but still well-balanced. Very good.

330ml bottle bought at Firefly liquor store, tasted at Matt’s place. Aroma and taste are very complex: sweet fruits, vinous notes, caramel, vanilla. Very good.

A hazed murky dark copper brown ale with a very thin mocha head. In aroma, sweet fruity caramel malt with loads of vinous notes, treacle, licorice, alcohol warmth, smooth floral hops, resinous and piney, fragrant. In mouth, a sweet fruity caramel malt with loads of vinous notes, treacle, pinot de charente, alcohol warmth, very boozy, delicious night cap.
