Poured from 330mL bottle [2012 vintage - 11.8%]. Muddy amber brown with no head. Aroma of mild alcohol, toffee, dark red fruit, brown sugar. Flavour fairly boozy with quite sweet brown sugar texture. Medium-full body.

Bottle: Poured a cloudy amber color ale with a large foamy head with good retention and minor lacing. Aroma consists of heavy caramelized malt with a more than healthy dose of residual sugars. Taste is dominated by a heavy dose of caramelized malt with loads of residual sugars and light toffee notes. Body is full with limited filtration and good carbonation with light warming alcohol. Nicely brewed though not to be recommended for diabetic people.

Single small bottle from the LCBO. Written Vintage 2012, but at 10.8% ABV. Pours a clean copper colour with deep amber highlights. Small creamy beige head that disappears quickly enough, but creates a nice film around the glass at the top of brew. Big sweet nose with lots of dark fruits (dates, raisins). Slick oily mouthfeel with the alcohol well-hidden. The taste is sweet, but not in an overkill way. Nicely blended grassy hops over the caramel base, with the dark fruits in the background. A very nice warming sipper.
