"Combining jet black color with incredibly smooth texture and decadent coffee flavor, BREWTALITY breaks the expectations of both rich espresso and dark beer to create a whole ’nuther beast. While brutal in alcoholic strength, this biggie beautifully showcases its roasted malt and coffee flavors without bringing on bitterness and bite. This is the first of two lagers in the series."

Jet black pour, small tan head from bomber. Espresso coffee smell. Some malty bocky dark fruits and a big coffee flavor. very mild hops, some light burning due to ABV. Interesting brew. Worth trying though I don’t know what this goes with.

22 oz bottle carried home from the brewery by Stacey. A near black / deep brown in color. Aroma shows me espresso bean, chocolate malt, chocolate. Flavor shows white chocolate, mild longer used, with a lasting coffee bean finish. Smooth over the palate. Some good roasty backbone. Pretty nice.

Dark brown, thin head, lots of chocolate and a nice touch of coffee on the nose. On the palate I think the coffee is a bit harsh and vegetal, with a chocolatey accent. I don’t know, thin coffee overtop a mediocre schwarzbier? I feel like I’m being generous here because I wouldn’t drink this again.

0.65l bottle @ Hotel Room. This is a deeper brown looking one only a small quickly islandy dark beige head in the top. Smells really nice. It has a good darker roasted aroma. Acidic hints, cold dark coffee. Nice. It's really on the sweeter path this. Not cloying but not too far off either. It's mild oily in the mouth and about average on the carbonation. Sweetish coffee. Like it's been added brown sugar. Traces of vanilla and cream. Ends with a throat warming flak roasted taste. The first few sips were nice, but now almost finished with the bottle I'm not sure if I would want to drink more of this. 20.06.2015

A deep dark lager with a thin mocha head. In aroma, bean paste, light coffee grind, musty character, so-so. In mouth, a rather herbaceous chocolate malt, grassy hops , Tim Horton coffee, boring. Bottle at Big Matt’s Eclipse tasting.
