This beer, inspired by the flavors of Southeast Asian cuisine, is a twist on the classic Belgian witbier style. Instead of the traditional coriander and orange peel spicing regimen, we add fresh lemongrass, ginger root, and a dash of Sorachi Ace hops. The result is a wonderfully refreshing ale with notes of lemon candy, citrus fruit, and a slight spiciness from the ginger. Best served at 45˚F in a tulip or wine glass.

0.355l can. Aroma is grainy, grassy, mild citrusy and spicy. Pours cloudy dark golden color with thin soapy white head and average sparkling appearance. Taste starts mild to medium sweet grainy, citrusy and yeasty, followed by faint ginger note and flowers, while finishing is moderate bitter. Medium body, oily texture and lively carbonation in palate. Bitter Thai…

Tap at Takanoya. Slightly hazy gold with a large head. Nose is lemon, lemongrass, ginger. Ok, the diacetyl I thought I smelled is Sorachi Ace as usual... Sweet and spicy, a bit overpowering for me, lemon grass, Sorachi creamy butter and oak, ginger. Crisp body, decent finish. Well done though a few sips is enough for my taste.

Draft at Craft Brewed. Pours a clearish gold with a finger of white foam that dissipates. Really nice witbier from WB. Balanced coriander, yeast, wheat and orange zest aromas and flavors. Some clove-like esters. Dry but a bit thin on the palate. Still enjoyable.
