Can explodes with carbonation and foam right after opening, but dies down quickly, then there is no head at all - strange. Slightly hazy light amber and copper coloured body with a thin tan head. Aroma of malt, caramel, cardboard and a touch of hops - not much though. Light-bodied; Creamy and malty flavour at first with a touch of nuts, some raisins and a cardboardie, off-malt taste with a little earthy and floral hops. Aftertaste is quite potent with bitter tastes throughout and a light hoppy note on the back end. Overall, a decent beer - a bit interesting since it’s more of a Canadian (or almost English) Pale Ale, but not horrible - some complexity in the mix. I sampled this 473 mL can purchased from Au Coin Duluth in Montreal, Quebec, Canada on 04-December-2010 sampled at home in Washington after Montreal won Game 6 in the 2011 Stanley Cup Playoffs against Boston.

Enjoyed this one with my bandmates at Joe Smoked Meat in Quebec City (right before one of our shows). Poured an amber colour with a big light-beige head with great retention and good lacing. Aromas of grainy malt and hop. The mouthfeel was refreshing, being crisp and dry. Great smooth bitterness that did not last much into the aftertaste. Pretty good IPA overall that is not too strong in taste, but is much better than macro wannabe IPAs.

Has a nice dark gold body with plenty of carbonation and decent head. There’s a soft aroma of cabbage and hops. Flavour is grass with a mix of malt and hops, like a cross between a bière de garde and an IPA. Medium finish. Decent.

Can: Poured a light amber color ale with a medium size foamy head with OK retention and not much lacing. Aroma of light bitter hops with lightly sweet caramel malt. Taste is also a mix between some light bitter hops with lightly sweet caramel malt. Body is way too light for style with good carbonation. Light body with almost no hops presence makes for a beer I won’t be seeking again.

Canette 473ml.

Golden IPA with a lacing creamy white head. Faintly hopped excuse for an IPA, with rather crisp biscuitty malt. In mouth, the hops are more present, with citrusy notes, but this one is lacking in body, and needs more malts to sustain the whole package.

A copper colored beer with a small beige head. The aroma is very light, but contains notes of caramel and malt. The flavor is malty with hints of caramel as well as some burnt notes, giving way to a slighlty hoppy and bitter end.

Can, Quebec Pavilion, 2010 Winter Olympics. Deep copper-amber with a thin head. Woody hop aroma is fresh with fruity undertones. The malt is rich with earthy, caramelly notes. Earthy, herbal character. The hop bitterness is moderate, but integrated well with the earthy malts. Old school IPA, but nicely crafted. 7-4-8-4-15 = 3.8

Draft, brewpub. Bright copper colour. Toasty, crystal malt aroma. Sweetish palate is timid and mainly of crystal malt. Toasty, moderately bitter finish. Billed as an IPA, but you can’t take that seriously. 7-4-7-3-13 = 3.4
