"Kühbacher Peccator", Fläschchen von Liebick, 27.4.2025. - Tiefdunkles Rotbraun, klar. - In der Nase sirupartig süßes dunkles Malz, Ovomaltine, Rosinen in Schokolade, nur wenig Hopfenherbe. - Antrunk mächtig dunkelmalzig mit satter aber gut eingebundener Süße, nur wenig Sirup, solider Röstigkeit (Mokka) und schöner dunkler Frucht (Rumtopf). Milder rezent, vollmundig, gut kaschierter Alkohol. Im Abgang dunkelmalzbitter und fein herbal hopfenherb. - Solider dunkler Doppelbock mit schwerem Malz und passender Bittere, harmonisch abgeschmeckt und rund aber nicht langweilig. Ein schöner Bock - und eine passende Erinnerung an das Luthersche "Simul iustus et peccator" (gerecht und Sünder zugleich).

330 ml bottle. Dark brown with a foamy head. Raisins, prunes, caramel, stone fruit syrup (sirop de Liege), some dry lemon notes, burnt malt. Malty fruity sweetness, dry bitterness. Full bodied, oily texture, soft carbonated, dry malty syrupy finish. Good warming Doppelbock, perfect for such cold clear nights.

Bottle picked up from Brauerei Kühbacher Getränkemarkt, Kühbach, consumed at home Saturday 4th December 2021 listening to The Blessed Madonna on 6 Music we had a great Bayerisch dish of Beef Roulades with Gherkins and Bacon and served with homemade Finger Gnocchi. Pours reddy brown, good clarity, off white head. Malty with some dark sugars and dried fruit, caramel and toffee. Very pleasant.

On tap @ Artigiano in Fiera 2021. All'olfatto si esprimono sentori di sottobosco. L'intensità olfattiva è elevata e la maniera in cui permane è apprezzabile. Il mantello birroso superiore è caratterizzato da una schiuma che resiste poco. La grandezza delle bollicine è a grana media. Il liquido è di consistenza limpida. Il colore è ambrato rossiccio carico tendente marrone. Il corpo è pieno. L'amaro è di media potenza. La forza gustativa è elevata e la permanenza è buona. Il gusto è piacevolissimo. Le sensazioni boccali finali risultano di birra beverina. Il retrogusto è intenso. In bocca l'aroma è quello di miele, crosta di panettone, frutta secca, luppolo, resina, agrumi e frutta passita. VARIAZIONI Plus, bevuto in bottiglia il 13 settembre 2018 (A. 5. A. 7. F. 6. T. 6. O. 6.0). Il gusto al naso va sull'alcolico. L'intensità olfattiva è elevata e la continuità olfattiva è sufficiente. Il cappello di schiuma ha una scarsa tenuta. La grandezza delle bollicine è media. La carbonazione è bassa. Il colore è scuro impenetrabile. Il corpo è rotondo. L'amaro è contenuto. L'intensità gustativa è normale. La costanza gustativa sufficiente. Il gusto è piacevole. Le sensazioni boccali finali sono di pronta beva. Il retrogusto è di media intensità. Al palato arrivano sentori di caramello, miele, cereali e agrumi.

Bottle from Haussmann Getränkemarkt. Drunk in the last hour before total Bavarian Corona-lockdown. Crystal brown with a nice tall head, tangy caramel nose. Very sweet, a desserty cara-roasted malty dominance with just a hint of hops bitterness in the mid to finish. A bit too syrupy for me, but good for those sweet tooth beer lovers.
