330ml bottle. Very nice but a bit faint, clear, auburn colour with small to average, frothy, slowly osteoporosing, minimally lacing, sulphureous head. Slightly cautious, mellow, dark malty aroma, notes of malt lozenge, a touch of toffee and caramel. Taste is slightly toasty, minimally nutty, mellow, dark malty, mildly bitter and minimally fruity hoppy, notes of malt lozenge, a touch of toffee, caramel, old apple. Slightly creamy, watery texture, smooth and soft palate, medium to fine, mildly prickly carbonation. Balanced, soft, a bit cautious - nice.

28-11-18 // 300ml on tap at Apfelweinwirtschaft Dauth-Schneider. at Apfelweinwirtschaft Dauth-Schneider Murky brownish. Small minimal beige head. Brauhaussmoothness, not clean, roasted malt aromas woth a slightly sour touch. Solid.

Red brown colour with fluffy head. Aroma has some toasted malt. Flavour has light caramel sweetness. Bitterness grows in the finish.

Klares bernsteinfarbenes Bier, starke Karbonistation, große leicht beige Schaumkrone. Geruch leicht nussig, sehr malzig, würzig. Geschmack sehr malzig, getreidig, leicht nussig, Karamell.

Der Geruch im Glas ist süßlich-malzig; der Schaum ist dunkel, cremig und schön röstmalzig-herb. Im Antrunk ist das Bier doch etwas wässrig, aber sehr sehr süffig (14 Punkte für Süffigkeit hab' ich schon lange nicht mehr verteilt). Im Hauptteil wird das Bier vollmundiger und etwas süßer mit sehr schönen Röstmalzaromen. Der Nachgeschmack ist sehr Röstmalz-dominiert und schön trocken, dabei im Hintergrund auch leicht herb. Auf der Zunge verbleibt ein lang anhaltender, röstmalziger Ton, der aber doch ein ganz Bißchen wässrig erscheint. --> Für Frankfurter Verhältnisse ein sehr tolles Dunkel, dass geschmacklich eher nach Franken passt, als nach Süd-Hessen. Bis auf die leichte Wässrigkeit, die sich mal schwächer, mal stärker durch das Bier zieht, aber doch eher unterschwellig bleibt, sehr gut! Wirklich zu empfehlen!! Bügelverschlußflasche: Hazy, amber coloured, stable and lacy off-white foamy layer, slightly skunky toasty/fruity nose with a shy bitterness in the second row; moderate sweet-bitter flavour, almost medium bodied; toasty, nearly roasty, malt in the drier sweet-bitter finish. Excellent, by hessian standards…

Röstmalziger Antrunk mit deutlicher Herbe, auch eine Wässrigkeit ist unverkennbar. Etwas aromatischer werdend, leicht grasig. Die Wässrigkeit nimmt zu. Angenehm röstiger Abgang, weich, auch hier ist die Wässrigkeit leider erkennbar, hat aber immerhin etwas abgenommen. Zum Ende Kaffeeartig werdend. Nettes und eigenes Dunkles, dass aufgrund der Wässrigkeit kein Spitzenprodukt darstellt. Danke an Erzengel für das Bier. Test vom 28.12.2008, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 7,8,9,9,11,9 - 8,75

swing top bottle 500ml.-Clear amber coloured, big off-white head that stays for a while, weak malty caramel nose. Toasted malt, caramel and mild hoppy with light nutty notes. Dry bitterish and a bit watery finish. Lack of body and alcohol makes this beer average.

(draught at the Biergarten of the brewery) Hazy, amber colour with a thick and persistent foamy white head. Slightly mouldy yeasty and moderately sweet toast-malty aroma with light notes of caramel, cacao, grassy and woody hops. Light-bitter flavour, light bodied with a well-carbonate, almost crispy mouthfeel. Quite slim toast-malty base with caramel, cacao/chocolate, as well as herbal and slightly grassy hops; rather dry and slim toasty bitter and hoppy finish. Not bad, lacks body (05.VIII.09).
