This is the beer that started it all. Craft beer in Australia has come a long way since we first brewed this English amber ale in the mid-90s, but Hightail Ale is a classic for a reason. With a rich and complex malt backbone, and a delicately hoppy finish, this flavour bomb still packs a punch.

Bottled. A hazy amber beer with a huge off-white head, seems over carbonated. The aroma has notes of caramel, malt, and dusty hops. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, caramel, and dusty hops, leading to a dry finish.

Bottle 33 cl. Pours a hazy yellow with a frothy off-white head leaving a little lacework. A rustic, skewed fruity aroma. Light body, lively carbonation, overripe fruit and a slightly tart edge. Hardly any bitterness. Poor. 100912

33 cl. bottle. Cloudy brown colour with a dark golden hue. Big, fluffy off-white head. Sweet and fruity aroma with caramel, grains, toffee, some light floral and grassy hops. Light sweet taste with yeasts. Light to medium body, lively carbonated. Finishes with biscuits, toffee, and a slight hop bitterness. The yeast shows as a complex fruitiness. A little bit messy - or complex. Hefty price tag.
