Unser FPA – ein “english IPA”. Das englische Original ist durch die traditionellen Hopfensorten oft weniger fruchtig, während amerikanische IPAs deutlich tropische, fruchtige Noten mitbringen. Kupferfarben mit deutlichen Hopfenaromen in Richtung Pinie welche von süßen Malznoten untermauert werden. Voller Körper mit leichter Karbonisierung.

Keg at the brewery tap. Pours cloudy gold with a creamy, off-white head. Nice ripe citrus nose, some pale bread. Medium sweet flavour with pale bready malts, low bitterness, orange, tangerine. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Good balance in the finish, some juicy citrus notes. Nice overall.

18-11-17 // at 3. Mainzer CraftBeerMesse. Hazy golden. Small head. Light bodied. Some grains, hay. Mild bitter finish.

10cl at the brewery, pours a translucent orange with some sticky, white head. Nose has some orange, malt, marmalade, black tea. Flavor is standard pale ale: malt, black tea and orange, some honey, some dried apple slices. Finishes dry, lightly bitter.

*On tap @ Craft Mainz 2017. 6.2%. Nice fruity smooth and slightly grainy sweetish body. Easy to drink, round and smooth. Malty grain, fresh floral hops, sessionable.

[9/21/16] Draught sample at BrauStil in Frankfurt. Golden. Weird vegetables aroma (some sauerkraut), a bit spicy. Flavor has sweetish malt, a bit of sauerkraut, a bit of caramel, and a bitterish finish with some hops. Light to medium-bodied. Flavor is better than the aroma, but still not great.

Tap at Braustil in Frankfurt. Pours amber with a small white head. Aroma isn’t too good, some caramel and hop evident but also cabbage. Medium sweetness and bitterness. Medium body, slight sticky texture, average carbonation. Finish keeps with the cabbage and is a bit rough. Drinkable but my least favourite of the 4 on offer.

On tap at the brewpub. Trübes orange goldenes Bier mit einer ordentlichen leicht beigen Schaumkrone. Geruch sehr hopfig, fruchtig, citrusfrüchte. Geschmack kräftig hopfig, harzig bitter, citrusfrüchte, lang anhaltende Bitterkeit.

Intensiv hell hopfiger Antrunk, in dem blumige auf intensiv kräuterartige Noten treffen. Das Ganze steigert sich im Mittelteil, dabei bleibt das Bier harmonisch rund. Lang anhaltender Nachgeschmack, intensiv hopfig, weich. Zitronenmelisse, grasig, super! 12/14/13/14//14
