To make Bumaye 8 Wired started out with the baddest imperial stout they have ever brewed, and then added loads of tasty sugars to the fermenter for extra flavour. To smooth out the roughness, the beer was allowed to mellow in Pinot Noir barrels for 3 and a half years. The result is decadent but at the same time beautifully balanced. Let’s rumble!

Bottled. More or less black colour with a mediumsized off-white head. Aroma is vanilla, some chocolate, mild alcohol and some roasted elements. Flavour is roasted, some vanilla, alcohol, liquorice, mild bourbon and some wooden tones too.

500ml compact bottle, 2013 vintage, stored in my cellar for more than two years. Poured a noisy tan-coloured head slowly diminishing over a coal black body. Scattered lacing. Initially lovely aromas of roasted mid-sweet malts, oaky. Well blended taste character of chocolate, prunes, dark bread. and oak vanilla. Vinous impression. Long-lived and warming ending, not too sweet. Perfect slow sipper on a Friday eve. (Tromsø 29.01.2021).

Bottle 50 cl. Black with a minimal light brown head. Aroma of wooden barrels, fruits and choolate. Sweet with a warm woooden barrels, alc and chocolate end.

Bottle, 2013. Mellow in Pinot Noir barrels for 3.5 years, according to the label. Color: Black, thin light brown head. Aroma: Soy Sauce, rosted malt, vinuous. Taste: Medium sweet, roasted malt with vinuous red wine notes, notes of soy sauce, umami, bit boozy and warming mouthfeel. Dark chocolate hints. Moderate to medium sweet and bitter. Vinuous roasted malt finish. Full body, below average carbonation. Never tasted this beer before, but people who did say that this beer is over his top right now. Wish I had tasted this before because nowadays it still is a good beer but a bit messy and unbalanced in my opinion.

Flaske fra Vinmonopolet Tromsø - Langnes. Drukket på Lillehøgda.Svart. Lysebrunt filmskum. Aroma av svisker & rosiner. Søt. Smaken vinøs. Mørke plommer. Overmoden banan. Hint av sherry. Alkoholen skinner gjennom i ettersmaken. Heftige greier.
