500ml can: BB May 2021. Part of a Cost-Co Christmas Advent Calendar, drank on 10th Dec 2019 at my Son-in-Laws. Pours a misty burnt amber colour, the head white and fading fast. Malts in the nose and semi-sweet taste, light yeasty feel, mild spicy twist and soft bitterness. Almost interesting.

Slightly hazy brown and amber coloured body with a large, billowy and rather soapy pure white head that starts at about four centimetres and dies down rather slowly. Aroma of light wheat, some grain, a touch of biscuits, yeast and bread with a touch of a caramelised sugar sweetness near the end. Light to Medium-bodied; Nice bready and velvety texture of grain and malts with a very light wheat body and some of the complex yeast elements show through with bananas and cloves, but very little else to speak of - perhaps some alcohol and mild sweetness towards the end. Aftertaste shows the banana and especially wheat components with a smooth sweetness and easy-drinking profile, but much removed from the typical Zwickels that I've seen in Austria and around that section of the world - much more mild and darker than those others. Overall, nice to try, especially as something different than the typical lager, in the calendar! I sampled this 50 cL can purchased from the Costco Advent Calendar, purchased from Costco in Arlington (Pentagon City), Virginia on 29-September-2018 for US$59,99/24 pack/days, sampled on the 11th Day of December, 2018 at my hotel here in the Inner Harbour, Baltimore, Maryland.

Can from the Advent Calendar: pours copper with a little bit of haziness, with an off white head. Aroma is a sort of malty, biscuity, hint of earthiness and flowers. Taste is sweet with a light bitterness. Kind of earthy. Not bad for the Advent Calendar.

500 ml can from the Advent calendar, labeled as Kress Bayrisch Zwickel. Aroma is caramel, grassy, spicy. Pours slightly hazy amber-orange with a thin beige head with decent retention. Taste is sweet with flavors of caramel, toast, something that makes me want to say eucalyptus, even though it isn't that. Tastes like a marzen to me. Nice beer.

Can from the calendar. Pours a clear golden color with a large white head. A big sweet nose. Light overripe fruit, toast, sweet biscuit. Solid.
