(Bottle, Brasserie Lombard, Brussels, 25 Oct 2013) Golden colour with foamy, white head. Malty, spicy nose with notes of tropical fruit, anise and fennel. Malty, fruity taste with apricots, dried pineapple, anise, a touch of liquorice and a fairly sweet finish with balanced bitterness. More than medium body, with a certain sweetness. Slightly different saison with a distinct liquorice character. Quite nice.

31/III/13 - 33cl bottle from Geers (Oostakker) @ Mattie's place - BB: XII/2013 (2013-287)

clear blond to orange beer, small irregular white head, unstable, non adhesive, dissipates immediately. Aroma: lots of black liquorish, aniseed, that's it. MF: ok carbon, light to medium body. Taste: lots of liquorish, aniseed, bit sourish, little bitter, watery. Aftertaste: aniseed, some orange peel, bit sweet, bitter touch, liquorish. Totally unbalanced and to me tasting very foul.

330ml Bottle - Pear, honey, syrup, mint and yeast in the aroma. Earthy, fruity and fairly sweet taste with notes of pear, peach, mint, toffee and syrup. Written down, those qualities might sound like a strange mix, but they work surprisingly well together. This is an interesting and very refreshing beer.

Bottle. Almost clear, golden in color and with a minimal-sized off-white head. The aroma has honey, fruityness, something forest-like and a touch of dusty cellar. Rather strange. That goes for the flavor too, which has no bitterness to speak of, neither initially nor in the finish, and flavors of fruityness, fruit caramel and something honey-ish. Medium body. Certainly an unusual one, but quite pleasant anyway. 110916

Flavour is sweet maltyness, some yeast, mild herbs, caramel, toffee an some slight barnyardy notes. A quite nice beer, as it warms a bit from fridge cold.
