Tap at Watzke am Ring. Somewhat hazy old gold/amber body, some off-white head. Pungent, lovely caramelly-honeyisy-malty aroma with some apricot jam undertones. Smooth, bit flat taste, clean, soft malty backbone, soft honey-caramel, soft orange peel and apricot jam, soft clean yeastiness, solid hoppy herbal profile and bitter finish - like I love this brewery for. Yeeeah, this, as it is now, rocks.

On tap in the Watzke bar near the Golden Rider: sat outside the afternoon sun on 10th May 2017. Misty amber/brown body, white topping. Malts first, second and third in the semi-sweet brew, caramel esters and flavours leading the way. My sweet tooth was really pleased I had a half-litre of this.

On tap at the brewpub. Klare orange goldene Farbe, mittelgroße beige schaumkrone. Geruch süß malzig, leicht getreidig. Geschmack kräftig malzig, scharf getreidig, Heu, leicht hopfig bitter.

draught at Watzke am Ring. Hazy deep copper-golden colour, creamy white head. Full-bodied, intensively malty flavours, pleasantly sweet with a grainy touch and some nice hops. Very good.

Draught (Am goldenen Reiter): Hazy, light amber coloured, lively carbonation, firm off-white head; sweet caramelly nose with a good dash of aromatic hops and a shy mineralic touch; moderate sweet-bitter flavour, medium bodied, sticky, residual sugars detectable; mineralic-bitter finish with some caramel underneath. Not really convincing.........
