On tap at Melkebaren. An almost clear one, dark golden in colour and with a small off-white head. The aroma is rather subtle, with ham notes, apple-like fruityness. It’s medium bodied and nicely carbonated, with flavors of fresh fruits and some ham. Medium length finish. Rather uninteresting this one, but flawless, and that helps. 160220

Tap at RJ. Clear amber-brown colour. Rather short lasting head. Aroma fruity, cherry-like. Relatively light smoke. The same can be said about taste. Modest beechewood smokiness and pronounced fruitiness. Rather sweet, but not out of balance. Quite good.

From tap at Mi2 at Cardinal 14.09.15. Clear golden. Diminishing off-white head. Fine aroma of smoke, tar, old sea houses and bacon. Similar and complex taste, although not overwhelming. Surprisingly good drinkability.

500ml bottle. Clear copper colour with average, frothy to creamy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Faint smoky aroma, slightly fatty and fishy, hints of smoked eel. Taste is slightly sweet, smoky malty, smoked eel again; super soft palate. Somehow a smoked nothing; without substance.

on tap at Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. Reddish brown colour, large off-white head. Intense aroma of beechwood smoked malts, smoked meat and bonfires. Surprisingly smooth flavour, medium dry (just enough residual sweetness to make it palatable), smoked malts galore, but no rough edges. Very moderate hops. Highly drinkable.
