Old rating from 20-07-15 - On tap at meat heaven restaurant Chuck, pours a deep black colour with a small brownish head. Aromas of roasted nut & malt. Tastes of dark chocolate, deep roast, and liquorice. Feel is very good with very little carbonation. Overall a very good stout.

(bottle, as Бакунин The Boss, 6.5% abv) Black colour with a beige and firm mid-sized foamy head. Roasty malty aroma with distinctive notes of herbal and delicately grassy hops, as well as hints of ashes and liquorice in the background. Moderately bitter and subtly sweet flavour, light to medium bodied with a calm carbonation. Roasty malt upfront with chalky notes tuning in, mildly hints of liquorice and mocha, accompanied by a herbal and subtle fruity hoppy bite; moderately bitter hoppy and roasty finish with notes of dark chocolate in the aftertaste. Surprisingly likeable hybrid brew. 11.IV.17

500ml bottle from Bochka in Moscow. Pours black with a large and creamy beige head. Aroma is hops, roasted malt and coffee. Taste is hops, coffee, roastiness, medium bitterness. Decent one. Also, close to Black IPA.

BOTTLE 50 CL. Opaque and almost black, mocha head. Aroma is roasted malts and green grassy hops, subtle sweetness. Similar taste, roasty and green, not much of that chocolate smoothness, just the slightest hint of milky chocolate maybe.

Butelka: Very deep dark brown coloured, medium-sized and stable creamy tanned head; dark dried berries, toasted/roasted malt, ashy caramel and some liquorice in the bitter-sweet nose; moderate bitter-sweet flavour, medium bodied, silky MF; lingering bitter-sweet fruity and caramelly finish, molecular traces of ashes, liquorice and coffee included. Weich säuerlich malziger Antrunk, in dem Kirschnoten erkennbar sind. Das Malz rückt dabei deutlich in den Hintergrund, die Säure steigt etwas an. Zum Ende leichte Noten von Kaffee, insgesamt eher langweilig. 9/7/8/7/8/8

Bottle produced at Latgale, Latvia. Deep brown to black colour, unclear. Moderate ivory head. Average retention. The aroma is a blend of roasted malts, coffee and American hops. An earthy note also there. Light to medium body. Thinnish palate. Dry flavour. Roast & coffee go ahead together just in harmony with the powerfull fruity US hops. Medium bitterness. Just a little step is missing to call it a black ipa. Anyway it’s good. I don’t know what had happened to the beer samples of previous reviewers.

500ml bottle. Darkest brown colour with average, frothy to creamy, fairly lasting, minimally lacing, beige to tan head. Weak, roasty, chocolately dark malty aroma, a touch of coffee. Taste is bitter, roasty dark malty, chocolately, minimally grainy, metallic, a fruity touch of red fruit, very cautious hints of ammonia. Very bitter, minimally defective.

50cl bottle. Fast schwarze Farbe, mittelgroße bräunliche schaumkrone. Geruch sehr röstmalzig, intensiv hopfig, Gewürze. Geschmack nach roten Früchten, rotes malz, sehr hopfig, grüner Tee, etwas Kaffee.
