Inspired by an amuse bouche often prepared by the wife of one of our brewers, Scully brings white pepper, strawberry, and honey to a harmonious blend of “mouth amusement”. The ingredients are added at different stages to a Saison, and fermented with a normal Belgian yeast as well as a Champagne yeast.

From tap at Café De Hazeburg, Ermelo. Nicely Bretty aroma with sweet strawberries, oak, and red wine. Tart and mild sourish flavour, bit sweetish as well. Medium body, fairly complex, good!

Bottle shared with Pete. Bottle says 2016 on it... yowza! It's been in the fridge downstairs forever. Pours a slightly hazy apricot with little head. Aromas of... wait for it... strawberries. After seven years it still smells of strawberries?! Pit fruit and tartness too. Flavor is nectarines and strawberries and it is VERY nice.

Bottle from the Goose Island Brewpub, Shoreditch. Light golden, clear with no head. Lots of visible carbonation. Musty, woody aroma with mothball and horse blanket notes along with oak and forest floor. Sweet candy sugar yeast bouts up the woody tartness to the taste. Dry finish. Champagne and game pie in the aftertaste. Heavy carbonation. Incredible.

(Bottle) Pours hazy golden amber with a pink hint. No head. Lovely aroma. Floral, strawberries, candy. Great palate - medium body with lovely fine carbonation. Complex satisfying taste. There’s a modest tartness. Oak / wood with funky hints throughout. These earthy notes are balanced with some elegant fruity hints. There’s some nice gentle bitterness mingling with the woody notes in the finish. Very drinkable.

From Bottle. Golden color, Cloudy. Vinous aroma with Canned apricot. Sour citric flavor with Canned apricot. I honestly can’t taste the strawberries. I however can taste honey. Great beer.

On tap at the stadsbrouwhuis. What a lovely farmhouse saison - tart but only slightly sour, with a great body and a lovely sweetness enhanced by the honey. Strawberries are mostly noticeable in the aroma, which is very complex; strawberries, other berries, tart aromas and wine barrel. Finishes tart and sweet, with a woody wine note. Delicious.
