Bottle @ weekly tasting shared by Dutchdrebus and Ansjelaah. Dark red to slightly brown color, huge a bit soapy off-white head that lasts for quite a while. Aroma is a but faint or perhaps I don’t get any aroma because of the huge head. Taste malts, slightly roasty, lightly bitter, a touch of oxidation. I miss the hops and some fruityness.

Had this in bottle that I picked up from ’Jacks’, Westholme Stores, Goring-on-Thames, Oxon. Consumed at home, Sunday 21st September 2014 Soft in the mouth, a gentle carbonation, hoppy but not too bolshy, particularly when compared against the Beer Here Exexcutioner IPA that we’ve just had. A little roasty & bitter with a fruity tang. Don’t mind this at all. A6 A4 T7 P3 Ov13 3.3

Nose is lots of malt and yeast, slight chocolate, dark cherry and forest fruits. Taste is forest fruit, leading to a sweet mid tone with slight hop pine, then malt and cocoa. By the numbers black IPA.

On cask at Coach and Horses, Dronfield - Dark brown body with a lacing thick off-white head. Nose is pine, citrus, tropical fruits, melon. Flavour is medium sweet, lots of hops, pine, roasted malts, melon, grapefruit and grass. Medium in body with fine, smooth carbonation. Finish is cocoa and roasted malts. Very nice and complex beer.

Bottle 330ml (AbM)
Dark nut brown color, good cloudy brownish head. Hayish, hemp-like aroma. Medium-bodied. Active carbonation, it’s a bit disturbing. Hayish hoppyness then late piney bitterness and roastyness and coffee. Right elements are there, they are just kind of out of balance somehow.

Bottle from Beer Central, Sheffield. Clear, very dark brown. Huge, frothy tan head. Ever so slightly vegetal, dark maltiness. Hint of dark fruit. Taste is much the same. Hop bitterness kicks in at the end. Overly carbonated. Would like to try this when brewery fresh. Would possibly be a stunner on cask?
