NO RULES were followed throughout the creation of this product. This gigantic 15% Imperial Porter is deceptively smooth and subtly sweet with layers of flavor that never seem to end. Some say it tastes like a Mounds candy bar that’s been dipped over and over again in rich chocolate and soaked in bourbon. Other people find flavors of coconut, cinnamon, toffee, vanilla, and coffee — and they would also be correct. This beer is special and there’s a reason why it was named as the top beer in the World.

Bottle from an IP trade (through the other site) in NYC, 2017. The green bowlingball on the label indicates this is a 2015 bottle. Pours a pitch black colour and a light beige head that quickly recedes. Aroma's: sweet, syrup, light coffee and roast, vanilla, light boozy. Retronasal there's clearly coconut, bourbon, vanilla, syruppy sweetness, light roast. Flavour is heavy sweet, milk chocolate, light bourbon. Full bodied, (blubberdikker jetser), which hides the high ABV well. Long finish. Sweet but nice.

Crowler from Holiday Market. Pours a pitch black with a small brown head that dissipates. Big bourbony, oaky nose with fudge brownie, chocolate, kit-kat and coconut aromas. Coconut, chocolate and cacao nib on the palate. Boozy for sure but not as sweet as I remember older vintages being. Lingering coconut, bourbon and milk cacao nib.

Taste comprises coffee bean, mellow bourbon reposte, dark chocolate Bounty Bar, sweet malts, light candy fruits. Medium plus bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a balanced kiss of booze. Super solid well balanced coffee laden impy affair.

Bottle shared in London - many thanks to Colin. Pours clear brown with a bubbly, beige head. Quite sweet, with a lot of sugary dark malts, chocolate. Full bodied, lightly chewy, with fine carbonation. Lightly warming finish, still sugary, more cocoa, rounded dark malts, soft milky coffee. A bit basic but good fun nonetheless.

A deep dark stout with a thin mocha head. In aroma, sweet fruity chocolate malt with loads of coffee, vanilla, licorice, alcohol warmth, very nice. In mouth, a nice sweet chocolate malt with loads of dark fruits, molasses, alcohol warmth, light coffee and vanilla, very nice and complex. Bottle at DLD 2019.
