355ml bottle. Clear golden colour but with large flakes of yeast floating around, nice creamy smooth head with good lacing and retention. Aroma: tropical fruit and yeast, pineapple, mango, citrus, spices. Taste: bitter hops and tropical fruits, yeast, pine, resin, orange, bitter finish. Medium body, average carbonation, oily texture. Expected this to be fruitier but it’s not bad.

355ml bottle. Slightly cloudy, reddish, amber colour with small, thick, creamy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Yeasty spicy, minimally funky and fruity hoppy aroma, notes of peach, apricot, mirabelle, hints of lychee, strawberry and mustard seed, a touch of aniseed. Taste bitter and fruity hoppy, peppery yeasty spicy, minimally dusty, notes of apricot jam, peach, hints of mango, a touch of aniseed; slightly pell-mell, rotatory fruitiness, nevertheless a bit engineer’d and adjusted. Cf. the less controlled, more "natural", surprisingly good ’Canoe 82┃02 Belgian IPA’.

Rich, ever so slightly hazy golden and copper coloured body with a thinnish, single centimetre tall tan head. Aroma of mango, pineapple, malt, rich sugars and a bit of passionfruit - relatively strong in the nose. Medium-bodied; Assertive fruity flavours at first of tropical origin then show a good deal of sweetness, some resin and earth and a nice pungent yeast and alcohol kick near the end. Aftertaste shows some nice yeast with bitterness and pungency throughout, all with a hoppy and floral finish. Overall, a nice rich beer full of flavour and complexity all the way to the end. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Whole Foods in Fair Lakes (Fairfax), Virginia on 16-February-2016 for US$1,99 sampled at home in Washington on 12-September-2016.

Bottle from Wine Rack at Yarnton Nurseries consumed at home Thursday 18th August 2016 Had this after the Left Hand Extrovert and it was a case of ’after the Lord Mayors Show’. Pours hazy light amber with a frothy white head Loz correctly points out this is more Belgian than tropical, the fruitiness is there but the spiciness and yeasty edge so often a feature in Belgian beers swamps any hint of tropicalness here. It’s fine but I feel a tad disappointed if truth be told. A6 A4 T7 P4 Ov13 3.4

Bottle from Biernavigatie, BB 15.02.17, large sample. Clesr orange to amber color, big frothy head, some chunks floating. Aroma of spicy yeast, bit caramel malt, some honey, some fruity notes, bit pineapple. Bit malty and honey sweetness in taste, soft fruity bittneress, bit spicy, slight alcohol. Feels a bit like a fruity Leffe Tripel. Ok.
