Bottle from Drinks Vanuxeem, Ploegsteert, Belgium. Label ‘Triple au Miel’. Pours a hazy amber colour with a thin soapy looking off white head. Aromas of yellow fruits with a hint of sweet candy, honey and spice. Taste is quite sweet and syrupy with a little more fruity notes, some warming alcohol, more honey and peppery spice. Sweet cloying alcoholic finish. Medium body, average carbonation and sticky oily mouthfeel. I’m not really feeling this one. Too cloyingly sweet and alcoholic. Below average Tripel.

Honey aroma. Not too sweet, but a strong honey flavor. A bit flowery and alcoholic. Just a hint of bitterness. Not abundant with flavors, but fairly well balanced and certainly drinkable.

(Bottle, Chez Moeder Lambic Saint-Gilles, Brussels, 16 Oct 2015) Hazy golden colour with frothy, white head. Malty nose with notes of bready malt, honey and peaches. Malty, fruity taste with dried fruit, honey, dried peaches and a fairly sweet finish with low bitterness. Almost full body, soft, with a certain sweetness. Well balanced and tasty. Quite nice.
