Another World is a blend of red sour beers aged in a foeder and oak barrels. Fermented with unique mix of yeast and bacteria, this red sour beer showcases notes of black cherries, caramel, and marmalade.

Inside of this beer, there exists another world. A world ruled entirely by yeast and bacteria. This dichotomous world survives and thrives through constant cooperation and competition.

Danke an Erzengel. Mild holzig-säuerlicher Antrunk. Geringe Karbonisierung. Vollmundig, holzig bleibend, geringe Würzigkeit. Wenig steigende Säure, spritzig, süffig. Langer Nachhall. 10/11/11/11//11

Bottle shared with Erzengel! A clear orange golden beer with a small off-white head. Aroma of tart red grapes, red fruits, orange fruits, brett. Taste of tart grapes, berries, wood, orange fruits, nice!

2015 capped 750 from the tap room. Pours clear, brilliant copper with a beige, transient head. Aroma of sour with detectable lacto. A sort of sour cherry thing. Med body or so. It is sour, and it suggests cherries. Not getting Brett so much as lacto. It’s not a burning sour; moderate. Not exactly as malty as I expected. Pretty tasty drink. Quite dry, but not really astringent.

2016 bottle shared. Thanks Ozan! Huge oak-forward nose with vanilla, cream light yogurt, some lemon and gooseberry. High carbonation with some light sherry-like creaminess on the palate. Tons of oak, tart cherry, more vanilla. Very complex with oak and fruit notes working well. Quite sour finish, but not overbearing. Great stuff.

Tap. Pours hazy burnt umber, small off white head, decent lacing. Aroma is oak tannins, hints of acetone, cherry, raisin, lemon. Flavor is fully tart, lightly funky, cherries. Medium body. Solid.

Bottle sample at a tasting at Tom’s place. Thanks Ariel. 2016 bottle, 5.8%. Blend 35. Hazy red-amber. Aroma of vinegar, caramel, cherries, berries, wood, a bit of wine. Sour flavor, acidic, with vinegar, berries, sweetish caramel, wood. A bit too acidic in the throat. Medium-bodied. Nice but too acidic.

750mL capped bottle. Poured into Lost Abbey teku. No head. Dark orange-amber color. Moderately acetic aroma, which dominates. Same in flavor, cherry acetic. It’s fun and fine but one-note.
