When brewing a Belgian IPA one is faced with a serious dilemma. Should there be more of Belgium, with its fruity yeast flavours? Or should one lean towards America — pronounced, IPA-style bitterness and alluring resin-citrusy aromas?
We decided to bet on Belgium, out of respect for its brewing traditions and, also, because there are already plenty of classis IPAs on our menu.
In Goedemorgen peaches and oranges come to the fore, swiftly followed by spicy pepper and herbs. That’s Belgian esters. The lemons and grapefruit you smell afterwards come from the American hops. The overarching aroma is this of biscuits and caramel — courtesy of lightly-roasted malts. When tasting, you can additionally expect bold, yet crisp and brief bitterness.

Klarowne. W aromacie cytrusy, brzoskwinia, rodzynki, gruszka, przyprawy. Idealny mix hameryki i Belgii. W smaku cytrusy, brzoskwinia, przyprawy, rodzynki. Wytrawne, trochę mało intensywne. Niska goryczka. Piwo bardzo ciekawe choc nie rzuca na kolana.

On tap at Miejsc�wka, pours a clear copper golden with a small white head. Nose brings out a decent marriage of Belgian yeast and citrus hops. Flavour follows through, with bitter citrus and piney hops, combining with rather astringent estery notes from the Belgian yeast. Decently constructed, but perhaps a tad harsh.

Pretty well done Belgian IPA. Florals and citrus with a little pepper and green onion. Pours hazy orange with good head and lacing. Bittersweet finish. Tap at Kontynuac.

Barwa ciemnozłota, zamglone, piana biała, umiarkowanie obfita, całkiem trwała. W aromacie owoce tropikalne, cytrusy, żywice, lekko fenolowe nuty. W smaku półwytrawne, są nuty chmielowe i delikatnie belgijskie z przewagą tych pierwszych. Goryczka średnia, wysycenie i ciało w normie, lekko piecze po przełknięciu. Niezłe, ale trochę za mało Belgii.

50cl bottle. BB 05.02.2018. A hazy golden beer with a huge good lasting off-white head. Aroma of floral bitter hops, yellow fruits, yeast. Taste of mild sweet malt, floral hops, wheat, yeast, hints of banana, interesting!

Bottle@Jespers - Orange pour with white head. Sweet malty and fruity with some notes of orange and peach, some yeast and sweet malty notes, citrus fruity, light hoppy finish.

50 cl bottle. Pours hazy yellow. Small white head. Aroma is grassy, straw. Light estery. Fruity, estery. Crisp hoppy. Mild fruity, solid bitter. Dry estery from back of the nose. Bitter and slight herbal finish.
