Many thanks to Beerhunter111 for sharing. Malty nose with hints of cake. The beer starts floral fresh, intense bittered with grainy hints. Round and smooth, bitter with malty hints. Nice.

33cl bottle shared with Erzengel. 2015 vintage. A clear dark amber beer with a small white head. Aroma of caramelish malt, red malt, some dried fruits. Taste of dark caramelish malt, pine needles, mild resinous hops. Good!

Flasche 0,33l: Kastanienbraun, leichte Trübung, kräftiger fester feinporiger Schaum; in der Nase kräftige Süße, Malz, Malzzucker, dunkles Karamell, kräftige süße Würze, frische Hopfennoten, leichte Zitrusnoten, dunkle Fruchtigkeit; frischer fruchtiger Körper, leichte Säure, Malz, sehr cremig, kräftige Kohlensäure, frische Hopfenaromen, fruchtige Bitterkeit, deutliche Röstaromen, Kaffee; angenehmer fruchtig-bitterer Nachgang mit kräftigen Hopfenaromen

(bottle, 33cl, as Altbier-Bock 2.0) Hazy, dark amber colour with a beige and tall foamy head. Piney, spicy and slightly fruity hoppy aroma with notes of nettles, grass and grapefruit. Bitter-sweet flavour, medium bodied with a moderate carbonation. Dark and mildly toasted malt character with notes of bread crusts, backed by mainly piney, spicy and subtle fruity hops, which are dominating the dry and moderately hop bitter finish. Reminds me a bit of a stronger first generation Schumacher 1838. 20.IX.16

Pours clear reddish brown with lazing offwhite head. Aroma has malt, dark caramel and hoppyness.

Malziger, dazu frisch hopfiger Antrunk. Weich, der Hopfen bleibt vollmundig, bitter-heuartig, intensiv. Lang anhaltender hopfiger Nachhall, in dem die Malzigkeit im Hintergrund bleibt und insgesamt kein wirklicher Altbier-Charakter aufkommen möchte. 10/9/11/11/11/10
