This Irish oat malt stout is brewed with a generous portion of malted oats, imparting a unique flavor and texture which distinguishes it from most dry stouts. It is robust yet well-balanced, with a chocolaty, roasted malt character and a creamy mouth feel. The subtle yet complex hop flavor is provided by Willamette hops. This is the only brand we brew exclusively as a nitrogenated draft.

Draught. Well I’m interpreting this as a dry stout because that’s what I thought it was. Anyway I thought it was damned fine. Nice aroma, silky smooth mouthfeel, lots of roasted malts, great stuff. I’m an outlier on this one rating wise but I don’t care.

Compliments of jwc215. Thanks, Joe!
This pours from 12oz bottle almost a pitch black with a small head of foam that shrinks quickly to a few islands and it has some good lacing.
The smell is very sweetish. I'm getting sweet malt and some raosted malt.
The taste at first hits me with a lot of sweetness but that is taken over almost immediately by an oat and a roasted malt flavour and...there's something in the taste that is really a sour bitter. It's distracting me from enjoying this brew as much as I should be able to.
More sips in and nothing is changing. I *will* say that the finish ends up on a semisweet note and is nice but that distraction that I mentioned is going to knock off some points in the taste department. Too bad.

Sampled on nitro draft at Pour in Ebensburg this beer poured a black color with a large creamy tan head that lingered and left good lacing. The aroma was dry, roasty, malty and had a bit of vanilla. The flavor was bitter, dry and roasty with wood, charcoal and a hint of red meat. Long roasty wood and charcoal finsih. Medium body. Meh.

20oz pint at The Map Room pours a murky black with ruby edges and some very creamy, off white head. Nose has a very stouty nature to it, chocolate malt balls, some heavy bread notes, a little burnt chaff. Flavor would remind you of fresh St James Gate Guinness, creamy latte, chocolate malt balls, some toasted bread crust. Creamy finish.

Draft. From notes. Chocolate and coffee, medium bodied. Good, but something weird in the aftertaste that I’m not a fan of.

Tap at the Map Room. Chicago. Poured a deep mahogany with a big frothy tan head. The aroma is weak cream caramel malt. The flavour is medium to weak bitter with a roasted malt, liqourice, spicy hop slightly watery palate. Nice and creamy / chewy but it lacks flavours and body.

Enjoyed at the Map Room in Chicago, IL while celebrating a friends birthday. I didn’t take tasting notes for this one, but I remember this being a pretty good, standard frothy stout. Appearance is pitch black with a frothy, creamy white head. Aroma of chocolate malt and lactose. Taste is creamy and smooth with chocolate and light coffee notes, also a subtle hint of nuts. Good stuff.
