bottle, though the presentation from the bar was in a nifty ceramic mug with Diekirch Grand Cru on it - Pours amber, I assume as itβs hard to see in the opaque mug. Thereβs a thin off white head that lasts a long time. It has a mild malty aroma. The taste is sweet malt and should definitely be allowed to warm as dark fruit flavors of cherry and berries come out. Itβs bubbly and medium bodied with a little dryness in the finish. Refreshing. I liked it anyway.

Bottle from Vianden Luxembourg. Pours dark brown with red hues. Thin tan head that fades quickly. Smells of wood, slightly piney, yeast. Taste is of sweet carmel, slightly sour, nice bitterness. Great mouthfeel creamy and rich with moderate carbonation. Finish is bitter and lingers. Nice suprise.

Bottled (BB 09/2007)
Copper brown color, not much head. Burned sugar and malts in the light aroma. Grassy hops mixed with toasted sugar in the flavor. Bock-like but quite watery and boring - sweet - vienna. What Grand Cru stands for?

Beer not visible - poured into a stone crock (pale amber?); big off-white head. Roasted malts, even some alcohol in the nose. Grassy aroma as well. Roasted malts again in the taste, some sugar, cookies, and again, alcohol. Quite sweet finish. Light mouthfeel, but there is a slick, oily texture flowing through. Surprising beer - from this brewery. It has an ale character, but I bet anything on it being bottom-fermented. Too sweet, too polished, too roasted for my personal preferences.
