Wild in character, a complex ale with dried fruit and clove aromas, and a satisfying dry finish. Inspired by great Trappist ales, our complex Belgian Style Pale Ale is fermented with the wild yeast Brettanomyces. Matilda pours a golden sunrise color with dried fruit and clove aromas, a spicy yeast flavor, and a satisfying dry finish.

Bottle from the LCBO. Cloudy deep amber with a billowy off white head that recedes quite slowly. Nose has bread, toffee, banana, cloves, grass and a bit of Brett funk. Light sweet caramel and bread start with a medium light grassy bitterness and cherry tartness carrying through to the finish. Light spice throughout. Medium slick mouth with average carbonation and a dry finish. Nice combination of sour and spice.

Bottle @ Hoppy Advent Race in Space, Sønderborg. Pours hazy amber with stable off-white head. Atypical aroma of raisins and porto, with vinous and hoppy notes. Vinous flavour with notes of malt, red berries, yeats and dust and some hoppy bitterness. Bitter and sourish aftertaste. Decent.

Bottle, 7%. Fruity and citric aroma with a good raisin note to it. Clear copper colour, a little reddish, with some small bits floating in it. small white head. The flavour is citric and fruity with some berry to it. Has a good balance between the berry flavours, citric notes and bitterness.

Hits all the right notes for the style, looks like it belongs in a Belgian trappist glass. Copper/orange with a small, silky oil skin head. Aroma of wine barrels and dried fruit. Taste is woody and smoky, some dried fruit, peat. Abrupt finish.
