This ale poured a dark orange colour with a fast disappearing head. To the nose there was heavy scents of lemon and orange citrus, hopps, grass and pine sap. First taste wasn’t as bitter as I expected. Full flavours of citrus with caramel and honey. The finnish is hoppy but not as bitter as expected. This beer ends at a hoppy bitterness that is very light.

A good bitter. Lots of hops for the style, and balanced by malt. Cloudy gold color.

Bottled (thanks drewbeerme). Amber colour, mediumsized white head. ARoma is hops, grass, malts and some flowery bitterness. Flavour is quite the same with big grassyness and also some earthyness in the finish.

Amber color, small creamy head, some lace. Cut grass nose - quite intensive. Pale malty, a bit sweetish start and late bready hoppyness, cut grassy notes. Long hoppy aftertaste. Balanced but simple.

Bottle. Nice balance of bittering hops to a medium body and malty beer, though this is more bitter than classic ESBs. Copper pour. Fading, off-white head. Aromas of bready malts, caramel with notes of some spice and citrusy hops. The flavor is moderately bitter and moderately sweet and slightly acidic. Nice full body and mouthfeel. Very drinkable.

Bottle in Sam Adams glass. A new bottled retail beer from the Goose, HOO HAH! This has a lightly sweet malty smell pushed aside by freshly picked hops. Color is the brown of falling leaves and Chicago Bears orange. Taste has dry toast with cinnamon sugar, and lots and lots of grassy fresh hops. Sticky, hearty and warm, and a lot of lace still clinging when the glass is emptied. A great football watching beer.

Pour is a copper with a white head. Aroma is a very nice, clean pine hop. Flavor is nice with a heaping of roasted malts and then the hops come in to take things over. Leaves a lingering spice on the tounge after the swallow. A nice ESB!

A really honking beer. Bitter honking medicinal taste, I’ve tasted much better ESB. This probably should be listed as an ESB. It says it it right in the description. Certainly far from a a good marzen or octoberfest. Orange brown in color and cloudy. Has an off white creamy head. Much more bitterness than any marzen I’ve had the chance of tasting. One good thing is it mellows out a bit after half the bottle, probably because it numbs your taste buds. Has decent carbonation.
