Our Oatmeal Porter incorporates the smooth creaminess of organic rolled oats with mysterious dark chocolate and coffee undertones. A little creative hopping leaves a balanced beer that’s not your traditional porter. This porter was our original winter seasonal, but an angry mob of cult followers threatened us when we proposed to stop brewing it. For our safety and your pleasure, the Oatmeal Porter is now offered year-round.

12 oz bottle purchased at HyVee in West Des Moines, Iowa as a single. The pour is a black brown, almost opaque, with a ½ inch khaki head. The aroma is soft char roast, faint vanilla sweet, and some nutty caramel malt. The taste is the sweet caramel nut malt, followed by char roast and cereal grain flavor of oatmeal. The palate is medium bodied with active carbonation and a char mineral finish. Easy drinking, solid Porter.

Draft. A- Oatmeal, creamy, cocoa, coffee, roasty. A- Black color, dark liquid, tan head. T- Cocoa, coffee, espresso, cream, balanced, mild bitterness and maltiness. P- Medium body, average texture, soft carbonation, smooth finish. O- A surprisingly great Porter! This could rival any Oatmeal Porter or Stout out there. Very smooth yet complex and rich. The creaminess of the beer is unbelievably good and I have never enjoyed a Porter quite like this one. I could drink this one after another.
