Batch 067 16. Black beer with big head, very large and sticky lacing. Aroma is very fumy, roasty, and rich. There is an espresso bean chocolate aspect. It’s rich without being over the top. Flavor is lighter and more down to earth. A light acidity with an earthy light coffee, a light lactose sweetness. Easy drinking despite all the elements. Lighter body for the aroma.

This was poured into a snifter.
The appearance was a black color with a one finger white to off white foamy head that dissipated within less than thirty seconds. Light speckled to somewhat stringy lacing clung to the glass.
The smell had a nice sweet to bitter blend of coffee to milk chocolate. Light amounts of dark chocolate with some roasty coffee beans round it out.
The taste was a nice blend of chocolate to coffee, sweet, bitter and roasty. And then a semi-wet coffee aftertaste leads into a sticky sweet finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with an okay wet feel over my tongue. A little less body on my tongue.
Overall, still a nice Imperial Stout that I would have again. Just a bit more sessionable than other Imperial Stouts.

Bottle. Pours a very dark brown with small beige head that lasts leaving sticky lacing. The aroma is strong roast and bready malt. Thin mouth, brown sugar, coffee bean, light bitterness, good.

4oz pour at Smoke and Barrel. Pours a watery, translucent black with some swirling tan head. Nose has watered down coffee, brown sugar, some toast, caramel, some malt. Flavor has more to it, malt, molasses, coffee beans, chocolate, toast, brown sugar. Thinner finish than I imagined. Nice.

Drought. Drak brown with tan sppongy head, caramel-chocolate aroma, sweet coffe taste, low carbonation, long finish. The sugary taste is a bit overpowering biut great otherwise.
