Pours dark reddish brown with a thick tan head. Strong aroma of watered malt. Taste has rich creamy notes of coffee and chocolate. Palate has the most subtle element of hops and a fascinating sweetened note that is almost imperceptible. Fantastic porter, absolutely indicative of style.

Bottle, from Bottle Liquor, Morro Bay. Pours dark brown with creamy large beige head, mocha-dark chocolate aroma, low carbonation, medium bitter mocha taste, smooth but watery thin body, long finish. Nice porter, but a bit too thin.

Tap at the brewpub. I don't buy the hype; cant tell if im just beerd out but it feels again more like a schwarzbier than a lovely porter.

Bottle. One of a sixpack brought over by a friend from Loveland, CO A nice malty nose, with overtones of earthiness and wet grass. Pours a deep mahogany brown with a tight creamy head. An initial sharpness in taste gives way to a sweet creaminess. Black cherries, molasses and plain chocolate turning to latte. A soft carbonation that just caresses the tongue. Have absolutely loved this beer ever since I first tasted it – 12 years ago now.
